September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month!
September is upon us. It is our opportunity to renew our commitment to advance the fight against ovarian cancer. Importantly, and once again, President Obama has proclaimed September 2014 as National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Please read the press release, issued by the White House, with details of this important announcement.
While we, the dedicated NOCC staff and volunteers, along with members of the community, continue to raise awareness about the disease throughout the year, we are all intensely focused this month on raising funds for awareness, education, support, and research. This month, teal’s the appeal. Speak of it, wear it, and share it.
Throughout September, there will be countless ways to promote and support the cause. Thousands will participate in NOCC’s Run/Walks nationwide, dress and decorate in teal, learn the signs, symptoms, and risk factors of the disease, and use social media to share information and images that have the potential to save a life.
This is the month we demand more from ourselves, our communities, and our nation, as together we reaffirm our mission to save lives by fighting tirelessly to prevent and cure ovarian cancer, and to improve the quality of life for survivors.
